Summary of Personal Learning Update!

Well, I have finally had the time to sit down and organize all my thoughts and ideas for the other final project due in ECMP 355 – Summary of Personal Learning.  My original idea was to make a video, but I wasn’t sure how or what to use, so I looked back through my notes on the “tools” that Alec has given us over the semester and found Jing.  I played around with it for a bit (actually figured it out all on my own!) and loved it, so now my “video” has turned into a screencast using Jing!  I have the format all “mapped” out, so now it is just a matter of actually using the program, and recording my voice (as well as planning out what I am going to be saying).  I was hoping to incorporate my webcam into the screencast, but with the free version of Jing that isn’t an option (you need to buy Jing Pro) …so maybe in the future.  I can’t wait to get a good start on my Jing project this weekend!  I will let you know how it goes!

ECMP Final Project Update!

Yay!  Technology has not “failed” us again… yet… (knock on wood).  So far, our second idea/attempt at our final project is going great – running smoothly and well on its way to being complete – and actually working! (I even think that this idea is going to turn out better than our first one).  My group and I put in a solid eight hour day on Tuesday filming, uploading, and editing out final project video (great work girls!).  We still have some editing and audio left to do/add – which hopefully we can work on and finish Thursday – then it’s just a matter of wrapping it up and putting the finishing touches on it!  Can’t wait for you all to see it!

I don’t want to give too much of our final project away, but all I can say is that you will be learning, interacting (personally), and laughing throughout the entire video!

CEC: How to Creat Online Learning Environments for Gifted and Talented Learners      by Christopher F. Mulrine

For my ESPY 322 class, I am doing a presentation on gifted students.  I found this great article on how to “challenge” gifted students in the classroom, through the use of technology, by having them create their own online learning environments.  Read it here!
